One of the complaints with FS19 was the lack of Canadian based maps. So far, the same can not be said for FS22 with a number of Canadian maps being released and Bloomfield is the next to come off the production line. Nice regular shaped fields makes working with AI helpers a breeze, with a variety of options for sell points, productions and the like. 5 out of 5 from Farmer Klein is high praise, but don’t let that convince you, play it yourself and let me know what you think.

Willamina was a favourite “start from scratch” forestry map in FS19 and is back, better than ever for FS22. With two clear areas, the smaller land mass which is populated with a starting farm, shop, sell points, and new for FS22 a stone mine. Two bridges run across the river and there ends the access to the larger land area. From there on it is pioneering at its finest. Gentle rolling land makes it easier to form fields without drastic landscaping. The starter farm includes a small field as well as a small clearing of grassland. It takes a brave person to tackle Willamina, so, show us how brave you are.

European maps, in particular Polish and East European maps have been dominating the map releases lately and PGR Sliwno is the latest to add to the list. With quite possibly the largest farm setup ever seen in Farm Sim, a huge spacious yard centrally located in the map, with large fields evenly spread across the entire map, everything is readily accessible. Two train systems crisscross the map giving multiple options to sell and transport crops.

Quite possibly the most Polish map released yet, and also the largest this map feels much larger than it is. Numerous fields spread across the map, separated by forest areas gives plenty of scope for farming as well as forestry. A well detailed township borders along the edge of the map, with a variety of sell points scattered across. Experience the uniqueness of Polish fields while still being able to work with larger equipment.

This map is as British as they come, narrow lanes, hedgerows, organic field shapes and farms scattered across the map. Shir Farm has many options for play styles, from small to medium and even larger equipment. With plenty of grass fields scattered amongst the larger arable fields as well as animal pens of all sorts you’ll have plenty to do to keep yourself busy.

Holmakra has a special place in the Argsy Gaming community, having run a logging series on the original FS19 version. Well the new version is even better, being re-built and updated with new trees, changed buildings and features giving the latest iteration a new lease of life. This is a popular forestry map which is evident from the number of times its seen as a suggested forestry map on farming simulator communities across the internet.

Nitrodad brings us his first masterpiece for Farming Simulator 22. Middleburgh, located in New York state is feature packed with a number of custom productions to vast to list. The farm yards have been well crafted with a variety of options including some pre placed vineyards and olive grove. The map is neatly organised around the river running through the centre of the valley and has a wonderful variety of field sizes and shapes to keep everyone happy.

Farmville is the return map for DR Modding who has been quiet in the map making scene since early 2020. Based around the town of the same name in North Carolina it features small fields set around, between and through thick wooded areas and crisscrossed by small water ways as well as a river, some plantation forests ready for logging, a very extensive and well connected road network and a small town packed with production points.

Lands of La Mancha is a map of many parts - large open fields, dramatic changes in elevations, smaller unique fields, water ways, pre made vineyards and more, all packed in to a standard size map. As Farmer Klein has accurately reviewed, this is “a land of many opportunities.”

Looking for a big dairy or sheep farm, with easy square fields and flat terrain, then Cow Farm is the map for you. The basic concept is simple and the implementation in the map is equally so but this does give lots of scope to develop the farm further how you want to.

Head back to Lapacho Farm, the map released with the platinum edition of FS17. Complete with all new features, including production chains, multiple sell points, an active train, forestry, farming and town area, this will give you those nostalgic feels while still having the FS22 charm.

Map releases seem to follow an unintentional trend, and recently we have seen this trend towards “micro maps” - compact small European themed maps appearing on modhub. Brombach is no exception to this trend. Based on a real area of Germany, Brombach is smaller than a standard 1x but still contains a whole lot of farming with plenty of production chains, sell points and fields.

A compact map packed full of character, European Countryside features fields suitable for small machinery with plenty of choices with a small town full of production chains giving options galore! Based on a 1x map and released for all platforms on the in game modhub.

Gelderland is a Dutch based map released for all platforms with good sized regular shaped fields sprinkled with some angled field boundaries to provide some variety. Ditches line the roads and fields as you would expect to find in the Netherlands, with its low lying flat topography.

Great Western Farms is a map packed with good size fields, numerous production factories including a big number of custom factories, new fill types, crops and features.

There is a certain charm and character that is unique to Eastern European maps, and Osada is no different. A 1x map for both console and PC, it features a huge number of small narrow fields, tight lanes and roads this will be a challenge for anything larger than a 3m cultivator. A custom gravel pit with stone and lime, prebuilt apiary, greenhouses and other features gives lots of different options for the farmer. The promise of further updates ‘enlarging’ the map in future versions adds to the allure of this one.

Piney Run, as the title suggests is forestry focused map, with some established fields giving the best of both worlds. The map is a 1x map available on all platforms and comes with some additional features including a stone quarry and modified forestry equipment to make the tasks easier

Alien Jim, the king of survival maps is back with a new take on the genre with The Western Wilds. A 1x map which adds to the success of No Mans Land with industrial areas scattered around the fringe of the map providing access to a variety of production chains and varied sell points, while still retaining the ‘build your own farm’ charm.

Forstinning is a unique Bavarian style forestry heavy 1x map, with a hidden secret! Farmer Klein shows you all in his video below, otherwise take your time, solve the riddle and see what treasure awaits.

If one remake of GoldCrest Valley wasn’t enough, there are now two versions, released only weeks apart! This version gives a slightly different aesthetic to the map but otherwise, is very similar in layout.
